BridgeValley selection could come Monday | WCHS Network | News • Sports • Business

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Board of Governors of BridgeValley Community and Technical College is due to meet Monday afternoon and may choose a new president.

The finalists include BridgeValley Interim President Casey Sacks, North Carolina-based Mitchell Community College Vice President Camille Reese and Northern Community and Technical College Vice President Philip Klein.

The three finalists have had formal talks on campus in recent weeks.

“I learned that I really like it here. Let the people who work here get involved in what they do and serve the students. It’s a great institution, ”Sacks told 580-WCHS.

Reese, whose husband is from Hinton, said BridgeValley felt right at home.

“This college is similar to the college where I am now, in terms of academic programs. I see a lot of opportunities to increase enrollment, to increase university programs, ”said Reese.

Klein would come to work with a working knowledge of the state community and the technical college system.

If the BridgeValley BOG makes its selection on Monday, the State Council for Community and Technical Colleges will meet Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. to approve it.

Monday’s BridgeValley BOG meeting is set for 1 p.m.
