Extreme Trusted Delivery protects critical network infrastructure

Extreme Networks announced Extreme Trusted Delivery, a carrier-class solution designed to protect critical network infrastructure and ensure it performs as intended without interference, regardless of location.

Trusted Delivery protects key service delivery infrastructure at remote and unattended cellular edge sites, as well as in colocation and data center environments where access to shared facilities is a potential concern.

With the increase in cyber attacks, supply chain security is more critical than ever, requiring advanced end-to-end network technology. Trusted Delivery enables network administrators to validate hardware components, boot processes, and operating system (OS) throughout the device lifecycle – without disrupting device functionality – mitigating risk supply chain cyberattacks.

Secure basis for future deployments: With Trusted Delivery, Extreme offers an additional layer of certainty for service providers who are starting to move away from legacy solutions and ensures a secure and validated infrastructure foundation to support new networks. Available now on the Extreme 8000 series, including the Extreme 8520 and Extreme 8720 data center switches and cellular spine and blade switches, Trusted Delivery provides mechanisms to verify the safety and performance of devices during operation, allowing service providers to deploy new infrastructure with confidence.

Increased simplicity in material validation: Measured Start, an anti-tamper mechanism, gives operators the ability to validate hardware and remote start processes without shutting down the device. This saves time and resources and avoids unnecessary downtime. The implementation of measured boot is enabled by a microcontroller-based hardware root of trust (HWRoT) in conjunction with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Additionally, with remote attestation, Extreme offers increased verification that the device is performing as intended by enabling a trusted arbiter option and continuous binary-level validation.
