Feel the Pull: Rogue Launches New Magnetic Flash Modifiers

Flash modifiers are a great way to add creative lighting to your shots, and long-established modifier maker Rogue has just released a new range of magnetic modifiers compatible with popular flashes.

Rogue Round Flash Magnetic Modifiers have been designed to attach directly to the metal ring mount found on Godox, Geekoto, Westcott and Profoto A-series round flashes. Alternatively, the modifiers can be attached to a flash to typical rectangular head via the Rogue flash adapter. Available in small or standard size, this expandable silicone mount allows for quick attachment to flash strobes using a metal ring mount to attach other magnetic modifier components. Each magnetic component incorporates six neodymium magnets to provide strong flash holding force, while the modifiers themselves are made from impact-resistant materials to withstand drops and stack easily when not in use .

Modifier options include the Rogue Flash Gel Lens, which allows the installation of color gels on circular flashes by placing gels between the magnetic gel lens. The unique design then securely captures the neodymium magnets and holds them in place.

The Rogue 45 Flash Grid provides a popular grid angle for focus control when shooting classic portraits or commercial product photography. The grid can be used alone or stacked with additional grids to further tighten the beam of light.

No flash modifier kit is complete without a good diffuser to soften the otherwise harsh light output of a bare flash. Like the other modifiers in the new range, the Rogue Flash Diffuser Dome magnetically clips directly onto the flash (or flash adaptor) and includes the gel lens in its base if you want softer light with the addition of color correction.

Talking about that, Rogue Round Flash Gels can be placed between two magnetic modifier components to add color correction or vivid color for portrait photography. Available in two sets including an Ultimate Portrait Collection ($34.95) and a Color Correction Collection ($34.95), their 71.5mm diameter was designed to fit other flash modifier systems round.

As with older Rogue flash modifier solutions, such as the popular FlashBender line, the new round flash modifiers are also available in kits with the most popular modifiers grouped together for either round flashes or rectangular flash blasts. The Rogue Round Flash Kit ($99.95) is for round flashes only and includes essential light modifiers including Rogue Flash Grid 45, Rogue Flash Gel Lens, Rogue Flash Diffuser Dome, 3-Gel Sampler Set and a storage pouch. For photographers using round flashes and rectangular flashes, the Rogue Round Flash Kit + Rogue Flash Adapter Bundle ($129.95) includes all of the aforementioned modifiers, plus a Rogue Flash adapter (regular or small).
