Lazy DPD driver caught on camera throwing a package at the door from the garden gate

A woman was shocked when she watched CCTV to find a delivery driver throwing her parcel and a slip at her door – without knocking on the door.

Jorja Hunt, 24, had ordered a box of meal kit from HelloFresh and expected it to be delivered around 7.55am and 8.55am on Wednesday June 8.

While she was out, she received a notification on her phone showing a motion alert from her security camera at the front door.

In the video she shared, a man in a red uniform stops outside Jorja’s door, scans the package and immediately throws it at her door.

The DPD driver threw the package at Jorja’s door and took a photo as proof of delivery

He takes a quick snapshot of the package as “proof of delivery”, throws a delivery note in the air and returns to his car.

Jorja told Wales Online: “I got a notification on my phone at 8.08am that someone was at my door and I saw the video.

“I expected to be home for the delivery but had to go out briefly…luckily my neighbors saw the package on the floor and took it for me, but the delivery man just threw it there and left him.

“He didn’t even knock.”

She said the package was undamaged thanks to the secure packaging of the meal kit, but she feared the delivery driver could damage other people’s precious packages.

A DPD spokesperson said: “At DPD, we take customer service and the behavior of our employees very seriously.

“Obviously the behavior here is far from what we expect from our drivers.

“We are carrying out a thorough investigation and will take the necessary measures.

“We will also issue a full apology to the customer.”
