Man has Toyota Fortuner stolen at gunpoint in Delhi

Three armed robbers stole a Toyota Fortuner SUV from a 35-year-old man at gunpoint in Delhi’s cantonment area, police said on Sunday.

Video footage of the incident shows the owner of the white Fortuner car parking his vehicle on the side of the road near an ATM. When the owner of the SUV exits the vehicle, a man in a red jacket confronts him with a gun and after taking the Fortuner’s ignition keys tells him to get away from the SUV.

Two of his accomplices also get into the car and the three leave with the Fortuner.

The complainant, Rahul, who resides in Meerut district of UP, informed the police that three unidentified men came on motorbikes and stole his white Toyota Fortuner car at gunpoint at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, said a senior police officer.

Police have registered a case under Section 397 (theft, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or serious bodily harm) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and an investigation is ongoing, the officer said.
