Maren Morris and Gabby Barrett will not appear at the CMT Music Awards tonight (06.09.21).
Country Star was scheduled to perform at a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, but was forced to step down at the last minute.
Malen, who planned to sing “Line by Line” to JP Saxe, cited the “scheduling conflict” as the reason for his being canceled.
The 31-year-old star told fans in an Instagram story:
“I know @jpsaxe is going to beat him and I can’t wait for his album to be released soon!”
Ingrid Andress will join JP instead.
Gabby, who was in a duet with Lady A and Carly Pearce, will be replaced by Lindsay El.
The 21-year-old singer said she was unable to attend due to “personal circumstances”.
She told Instagram: “I’m really sad to share that I can’t perform with @ladya and @carlypearce at the @cmt Music Awards on Wednesday for personal reasons! Incredibly talented candidate and performers! Thank you for your support.
Both artists were nominated for Female Video of the Year, and Malen is nominee for Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year.
Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown will host the awards ceremony.
