OptConnect acquires IoT network provider Premier Wireless Solutions

Managed wireless service provider OptConnect announced it acquired Silicon Valley Based IoT Network Solution Provider Best-in-class wireless solutions. Terms of the contract are not disclosed.

OptConnect acquires IoT network provider PWS

OptConnect was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Kaysville, Utah. The company provides managed wireless connectivity services for unattended equipment including ATMs, smart safes, kiosks, micromarkets, digital signage and other custom applications to more than 3,500 customers, according to a press release issued by the company.

Founded in 2010, Premier Wireless Solutions is headquartered in San Jose, Calif., And is a value-added distributor and solution provider for a variety of wireless products, from integrated modules to fully integrated systems, according to the release. PWS serves the M2M / IoT market with all aspects of IoT network deployments including network design, hardware provisioning, software configuration, staging, API integration, device certification , implementation, management and support for customers in many different IoT industries and markets, including digital signage, major internet applications, utilities, asset tracking, electric vehicle charging and medical markets, depending on the press release.

The acquisition will add strategic capabilities, additional product lines and service capabilities and expand the companies’ global reach, the statement said. PWS will continue to operate under the Premier Wireless Solutions name, but will carry the OptConnect brand. The company’s San Jose, Calif., Office will remain open and Vince Giacomini, founder of PWS, will serve as president of the PWS business unit.
