Surveillance footage also captured the men threatening neighbors with guns as residents emerged from their homes to find out what the unrest was.
It happened last Wednesday (January 5) around 9:30 p.m. and the yard was completely empty at the time of the burglary.
Managing director Chris Ellis told CoventryLive: “On the face of it they just came for money, when one of them went straight to the safe and started smashing it off the wall. , but there was nothing in it anyway as we don’t keep cash on site.
“Actually they didn’t take anything at all. It’s just the damage they caused. They broke the whole door and the door frame so we have to replace them and the safe is also broken .”
Asked about the impact the burglary has had on himself and his employees, Chris said: ‘It’s just all the stress and worry like we were there until 12.30 that night securing all the doors, and we couldn’t even put the alarm on either, so that was a little worried, so I was just at home watching CCTV constantly in case they came back.
“It was really, really stressful, and we could do without the stress at this time of year. It’s quite disturbing to see that they didn’t care about the alarm, they didn’t care that someone ‘one sees them. Really, really scary to be honest.”
He added: “Three neighbors came out and he was about to challenge one of them but came running back to the scene so it was pretty scary that they were able to do a lot of damage to him.”
“Items can be replaced and damage repaired, but when they threatened a neighbor on the road, it’s just disgusting.
“They definitely need to be caught to stop them doing anything more serious because I think if the neighbor hadn’t come back to his own property the outcome would have been different. In one of the videos you can see them running at the neighbor with a steel bar and hammers.”
Chris added that another burglary took place in the area as thieves targeted Evans Cash and Carry on Monday (January 10) around 8.50pm in the evening.
Chris is also appealing for dash cam footage of anyone who may have been driving in the area around 9.30pm on Wednesday January 5.
West Midlands Police say they are investigating the incident and anyone with information can contact them on live chat on their website citing 20/112002/22.
Chris added that there is also a reward available for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
Information can also be given to the anonymous charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
