United Way of NYC Together We Thrive: Black Business Network welcomed 40 designers to NYCxDesign
United Way of NYC’s Together We Thrive: Black Business Network welcomed 40 black designers to the 10th annual NYCxDesign festival, held May 10-20. Together We Thrive is a broad coalition of government, nonprofit, and corporate partners to support Black-owned businesses in New York City.
In February 2021, UWNYC launched Together We Thrive in response to the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on Black-owned businesses to strengthen their financial health and to align, activate and increase the capacity of existing systems to meet the needs of black entrepreneurs in New York City.
Held annually, NYCxDESIGN is New York’s signature design festival showcasing top talent from around the world at multiple locations across the boroughs. Together We Thrive events shine a spotlight on black designers, makers and fabricators, who are too often excluded from design fields, at venues in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Jamaica and Harlem. All events are free and open to the public with pre-registration at select locations.
In Queens, the event took place on Wednesday, May 18 at The Harvest Room (90-40 160th Street, Jamaica, NY 11432).
Together We Thrive Jamaica Black Entrepreneurship Networking Event, a hugely successful event has returned for its second year…an incredible opportunity for New York-based black entrepreneurs to network and learn more about the black business landscape in New York.
